Micah Parsons is setting records in first season with the Dallas Cowboys

11:34 22/11/2021

Micah Parsons is having quite the rookie season in Dallas.

The talented former Nittany Lion was drafted 12th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Cowboys in April.

His first year has featured some remarkable feats, but it reached new heights on Sunday.

Additionally, according to the NFL’s media research department, Parsons is just the 2nd rookie in the last 20 years to record at least 8 sacks and at least 40 tackles in his first 10 career games.

The other guy was 8-time Pro-Bowler, 3-time All-Pro, 2011 Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Super Bowl champion Von Miller.

The former Bronco has 110.5 career sacks. Not a bad guy to find yourself in the company of.

Parsons had 4 tackles and 2 sacks Sunday in the Cowboys’ 19-9 loss. He’s up to 62 tackles on the season.

The loss was just Dallas’ 3rd of the season. Still, they sit 3rd in the NFC standings and 2.5 games clear of the Eagles in the NFC East.

With Parsons and the rest of the Cowboy defense, Dallas has the 2nd-best point differential among NFC teams and the 3rd fewest points allowed among NFC clubs. They take the field again on Thanksgiving day for a matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders (5-5).

4 Chiefs players who have exceeded expectations so far this season

High expectations for the 2021 NFL season necessitated that the Kansas City Chiefs find new contributors on both sides of the ball. Some fresh faces have buoyed them through the first 11 weeks of their schedule that have seen the team go from contender to pretender and back again.

The Dallas Cowboys spread hope in every which way imaginable this past week, trying as they often do to will things they want into existence. It rarely works, and it didn’t this time either. Wideout CeeDee Lamb suffered a concussion at the end of the first half against Kansas City on Sunday, crashing the back of his head into the ground on an underthrown Dak Prescott pass that was intercepted by Chavarius Ward.
